Dress + Trench: Refinery Consignment // Shoes: Charlotte Russe // Purse: Sam Moon
This phenomenal moment was inspired by The New Stereotype, a movement in New York City founded by Marquelle Turner, that was created to celebrate and highlight the many diverse layers of black life in America through fashion, photography and film. So I was honored when Melody Sours, reached out to me and other women of Dallas to recreate this dope look! We slayed it! We were able to recreate this look in partnership with Refinery Consignment.
Since we're getting closer to Fall, I decided to search for neutral, fall tones so, I when came across this dress, I knew I had to get it. Keeping the original photo in mind, I wanted to add layers to this look since the guys all had on suits and jackets, so I was able to find this tan, sleeveless trench that paired perfectly with my look. Just like any girl, I already knew what shoes in my closet would pair nicely so the leopard pumps put the icing on the cake. Oh and I can always depend on a good twistout!
Most of all, I'm glad I was able to connect and network with these amazing women of Dallas. This definitely won't be the last time you see us slay. Follow my #SlaySistas and check out their blog to find out the details on their outfits:
