Get Unready With Me

The year of 2016 for me has been the year of Hustle. Practically every weekend this year I have either attended an event, hosted an event, was the photographer at an event, met up for a business lunch… You get the point; I’ve been busy. Which I am thankful because this exactly what I prayed for. But with events comes the glam - the makeup, the cute outfits and gosh why are eyelashes so hard to put on? Well after a long day of networking and speaking to all of my readers/followers, I actually look forward to going home and taking all that glam off.
Since I’ve grown to love make-up more and more because it’s just so fun! I’ve also started to become more of a girly-girly and adding more steps to my skin care regimen. I’m starting to use more facial cleansers, face masque, bath bombs and just anything that makes you feel refresh and smell amazing! So normal bedtime routine has changed just a little bit as well. Although the products I use may change, the steps still remain the same:

  1. Remove Make Up
  2. Cleanse/Exfoliate
  3. Tone Skin
  4. Mask
  5. Hydrate/Moisturize

First things first, you always want to remove your makeup. My all time favorite makeup remover is the Neutrogena Makeup Wipes but because I ran out, I decided to use the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water instead. I used the Cleansing Water before and it gets the job done very well, I just like using the wipe to just wipe all the makeup off really good vs having to use several cotton pads. What I do love about the Cleansing Water is that not only does it remove your makeup but it is so refreshing and it also cleanses your skin. Some makeup removers does only that - remove makeup. But this Cleansing Water acts as a cleanser AND a makeup remover, so even on days where you don’t wear make up, you can use the Cleansing Water has a refresher just to clean your face of any impurities. But although this makeup remover does have cleansing properties, I still like to follow up with a cleanser just to be safe.

One thing I love to do once I remove all my make up is to clean and exfoliate my face. So I decided to use one of my favorite cleanser and exfoliators, Garner Blackhead Eliminating Scrub. I’m not sure what it is about this scrub but I absolutely love it, its so refreshing and it does not dry out my skin. I don’t really have acne issues so, I’m not sure if it treats acne but when I do get a random pimple, cleansing my skin usually does the trick.

Now something new that I have add to my (sometimes) nightly routine, is using a mask. I never really used mask before maybe once a year but now that I have fallen in love with everything girly, I use a mask about 3-5 days out of the week. I highly recommend getting to know your skin and paying attention to how your skin reacts to certain things. I, for the most part, do not have sensitive skin so I pretty open to trying anything that is moisturizing and beneficial to my skin type - oily. The But First Coffee Scrub and the Purity Clay Mask could both be used for facials scrubs but I chose to go with the clay mask. The Purity Clay Mask was the first clay mask I used that I had to mix myself with the clay powder and water. After mixing the contents and applying it to my face, I set my timer for 30 minutes as the instructed on the container. About 20 minutes in, I decided to rinse it off because my face was soo tight, so I knew it was working. After rinsing off the mask I felt super clean and refreshed. But after such a hardening mask, my skin seem a little dry so I followed up with an oil and a butter.

The oil smells soo good and minty. I love minty oils! So after applying that to my face and scalp, I followed up with the Butter. What I love about these two products is that they can be used for both hair and body so you kind of get a two for one which is pretty dope.
Having a night time routine has definitely improve my sleep and how I wake up in the morning. Check out the Get Unready With Me Video using the above products and comment below telling me your night time routine.
