The Dallas Textured Hair Marketplace

Something Huge has happened.

Like, HUGE!

We've been asking for this for a long time and it is finally happening. The Dallas Textured Hair Marketplace have given us a platform to network with other creatives, talk to leading brands in the natural hair community and unapologetically promote ourselves! Isn't that awesome?! We now have the opportunity to meet on a consistent basis - once a month to be exact - and network within our community. This is truly amazing. As a blogger and entrepreneur in the making, this is so exciting to be able to meet up with your blog-girlfriends and chat. I always look forward to meeting up with them but in the past, I would never know when the next event would be.

The Dallas Textured Hair Marketplace was founded by Julian R. Addo, who is also the founder of Bella Kinks and the DFW Natural Hair Expo! Her vision behind the Dallas Textured Hair Marketplace was to provide a platform to expose and support businesses, bloggers, stylists, creatives and more in the Dallas community. I believe she definitely captured her vision during her February event, sponsored by Uncle Funky's Daughter.

During the February event there were workshops, amazing vendors and of course, bloggers. As always, Nicole Patrick of The Natural Cole presented an educational workshop that helped newly naturals get a better understanding on their hair and choosing the right products. Following her workshop there was an amazing demonstration using the Uncle Funky's Daughter products which was styled by Markeita of Touch of Heaven Salon and presented by brand ambassador, Kala of the KG Lifestyle.

In between workshops, you had open access to amazing vendors and bloggers in the Dallas community such as OBIA Naturals, Textures Natural Haircare, Ven and Rose Apparel and much more. To close out the amazing event, there was a Blogger Panel Discussion with Ciara Anderson, @ayeciara, Jaleesa Charisse and guest blogger, Helecia, @iknowlee. The topic of discussion was "Managing Sponsored Content", which gave the community a better understanding on how bloggers handle sponsored content and if their opinion is truly honest.

If you missed the February event, don't worry! There will be an event every 2nd Saturday until September! Stay tuned for the March event which is sponsored by Made Beautiful with their leading product line TRUE. Also, joining from the Midwest, the hostess Romance, @heycurlie will lead the Blogger Panel Discussion with Dallas bloggers Doni Brown, @thedonibrown and Charlene Walton of Textured Talk
